After previously serving as the Minister of Defense and Military Production (since 1991) as part of the Mubarak regime/dictatorship, Tantawi took complete control over Egypt since Mubarak was overthrown.

He is currently the Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, and the de facto head of state. Sound familiar? Many Egyptians believe so, and are asking for him to be removed from all posts.
